Converting a 96 3500 gasser to 12V?

A good friend of mine is looking at a 1996 3500 DRW 4x4 gasser, 360 .
It is in excellent shape and could get it cheap, he's thinking of putting in a 12V Cummins.
Is there anything major different from a 1 ton gasser compared to CTD?
Frame? Crossmembers? It's a 360/auto, he wants a NV 4500 or 5600.
We realize radiator, probably radiator support, motor mounts are different
along with some of the wiring along with a whole lot of stuff we can get from donor truck or wrecking yard. IS this feasible or should he keep looking?

ANYTHING is possible....What's his realistic timeline to be up and running? Fab skills? Place to do the fabbing? Probably need a new ECM. It's not impossible, but these types of projects have a habit of sucking up huge amounts of time and money, especially if it's a first attempt. Speaking of impossible, there's an impossibly clean '96 3500 gasser down the street from me that's got my gears turning...
