thinking of converting from 12v

hello everyone. i curently own a 98 12v and i love it but it is getting to that age where everything is falling apart. my brother in laws dad own a 02 5 speed laramie that he is selling that just hit 100k and he has had it since 25k is that a good truck i'm clueless when it comes to the 24v's. so if there is anything i should look for or stay away from would be really nice to know. i would like to hit 500 hp would that truck be a good platform.

I would stick to the 12v and fix what needs fixing. The trucks, chassis wise, are identicle save for the brakes.

i agree too, i'd keep the 98. those are hard to come by now. just fix up whats wrong with it and go on. the 02 will give you the same problems later down the road and your gonna miss that 12 valve. i already miss mine haha its only been a month. if you do decide to go with the 02 or whatever else, watch out for 53 blocks. i would also watch that vp44 on the 02 if its still the stock pump. check lift pump too
