Converter is gone!
Converter is gone!
Now my question is should I just get a new converter (goerend triple disk), or should I bite the bullit and buy a new tranny? This transmission was rebuilt about 40k miles ago. It still shifts fine and acts ok the converter just doesn't lock up!! I talked to Dave and he said he would get a converter and the lever strap. Would I need a valve body with this?
I bought a 5 speed truck....
But seriously, I had the same deal, if I hadn't have found this new truck, I was going with a full Goerend tranny. Yes, more expensive, but you would not have to worry about it being low pressure to your TC causing it to fail, and the clutch debris would not have circulated through your trans.
In the end, I just bought a better than stock TC, and will install it and sell my Auto truck.
Also, there is a chance that by using the higher pressure VB and TC you can tear up the band.
