auto trans on 97

Hi there I am new to the site and have question about my auto trans..I would like to beef up the trans a little the only engine upgrades I have are 4 inch exhaust and cold air intake. I would like my trans to shift better and be alot more durable so I dont have to baby it or worry about it quite so much. any suggestions on what parts I should throw at it????

Cheapest upgrade would be a Trans-Go TFOD Diesel shift kit. Better still, since the Dodge TC's are very poor add the shift kit and a billet Converter preferably from Goerend, ATS, Suncoast etc. Better still and easier (but more expensive) is an upgraded valve body and TC from any of the above.

If the tranny has a lot of miles though you might just want to start saving for a new one.

hi
a fluid change and some adjustments with the install of the tfod-diesel vb kit from transgo and you will greatly extend the durability of your trans !

if you dont do a convertor change you can add a lock up switch , what i did , with a hobbs psi switch to kick it out when stoping so you have 1 less thing to remember while driving .

A TFOD Diesel shift kit will make it shift better and hopefully last longer. The shift kit or a HP Valve body along with new TC will make the transmission a whole different animal.

The stock converters are very sloppy, the shift kit won't fix that. If you only want to spend $100 or so install the shift kit, its a nice improvement.
