Clearing codes with out a scanner !

Hi guys ...I just replaced my coolant sensor and there was a stored code ....my buddy with the snap-on scanner is a 30 miles from me .
So is there a way to clear the codes with out a scanner ?
I'm not sure if disconnecting the battery works on the dodges .
Thanks

Greg

Disconnecting the batteries for a half hour or so will clear most codes but some 'hard' codes require a scanner or 50 engine start/stop cycles.
I don't mean turning the key off and on, you have to start and stop the engine 50 times.
