burnt the clutch
so as the title says i burnt my clutch, it was rather tragic, id gone into the back 40 to grab some wood i had stacked on a pallet, spun out and spent the next 2 hours lowering tire pressures and rocking the truck. which as more experienced drivers will tell me, was my down fall. sadly i didnt have alot of options.
it still catches, but i know i have severely shortened its life span, i only hope it lives out the winter. i have shifted the afc all the way forward, pulled the fuel plate, the turbo wont push more then 20 psi but when i get that figured out im want it to push 35psi. i have not installed a 3gsk, but it should be planned for. 4in turbo to rear axle, i pushed it out in front of the axle.
the truck is my current DD. i dont tow regularly but i have towed at the limits of the truck, same with payload.
question is what do i replace my clutch with, im pretty sure i havent torched it sooner because of my turbo issue. from what i understand i should be around the 300 HP mark. this pushes me into the aftermarket clutch area, i think. or that i should at least over compensate. i want to make my power without any serious modifications.

Is it slipping at all right now? I have abused mine pretty good at times, including completely stinking myself out of the cab, and so far, I haven't got it to the point that she will slip in normal operation. I am pretty much 100 percent stock though.
I have a brand new SB DD3250 though, waiting on the time that I finally kill my stocker, I would like roughly the same HP as you, and definitely don't want any clutch issues when i do turn it up.
That's the choice I made, you could probably do with less, perhaps a Con-Ofe ?

Nowadays I think the best towing setup is a Valair double organic disc with the quiet center plate option.
A ceramic disc is like a light switch, on or off. there is no slipping it. If this is a work truck the organic or Fe / Organic is the way to go. The double disc Valair organic will hold a lot of torque. It will be my next one on my "new" '96.

im not expecting to go to deep into the engine, get the turbo makin more then 23psi maybe injectors and timing, that should be it. i dont think ill make more then 450 hp. shes a daily driver with the random tow job. if id been into her already id probably buy another clutch like the one i just destroyed. it was good till i got her stuck and beat the sh't out of it. sigh too bad chains are cheaper then lockers.
