Anyone know what causes this? I hit my brakes
and the truck darts to the left. I know it is
in the fron somewhere. I replace the right caliper
awhile back. And it seemed to help.

 

Check the trackbar first.
More often than not the problem is coming from the rear brakes being out of adjustment. Manually adjust them.

 

Thanks infidel, that what i tried first. The track bar i good back breaks good, its just when i hit the breaks the steering wheel itself actually turns to the left real hard when i let of it comes back straight. This is quite a problem when i am pulling something LOL.

 

I had this problem with my 96/2500. It was a bad caliper. Having been in the fix-it business for nearly thirty years, I would only replace one corner of my failing brakes if it was an emergency.

Always replace left and right together. I have found many sticking calipers on Dodge full sized trucks. I have never found two sticking on the same truck.

Remember to thouroughly inspect your front flexible brake lines. Replace them if there are any questions and remember that brake fluid is hydroscopic
(absorbs moisture) It needs to be completely flushed once in a while. Especially if you tow heavy on a regular basis.

If you have rear drum brakes, they need to be manually adjusted every so often. The self adjusters do not usually keep them properly adjusted.

I tow a 40 foot 5th wheel toy hauler with a large payload. I pay special attention to my disc/drum brakes and have not had any further problems such as pulling left or right or boiling fluid.

 

You are sure that you didnt accidentally twist the line when you put the caliper back in?This would pinch the line and allow for the caliper to stick.Its happened to me

 

Might have a broken brake pad.

 

The guy I commute with had a brake problem. Using my Infrared heat gun it was obvious one of the calipers wasn't heating up and needed replacement.

 

Check those caliper bolts.
If they are not well lubed they will stick.
