Brakes
My brakes have started acting funny. when used a couple of times in a row the peddle starts hardening up as if the engine is not running, like there is a vacuum issue. Any ideas???
If you're having the problem only at idle the problem is normal.
The vacuum pump just can't keep up at low rpm.
Best fix is to be aware of it and throttle up.
The other fix is to add a vacuum storage tank, cheap and easy.
If the problem happens other than at idle you have a vacuum leak.

Correct me if Im wrong.............there should be two vacuum tanks, one behind each headlamp
The vacuum tanks didn't come stock.

My truck has been doing the exact same thing, I idled it up about 750-775 in when its in drive w ac on and it stops fine now but my parkbrake and abs lights on the dash still come on everynow and again but at least I can stop. Anybody tried to hook up one of those $35 vaccum tanks from jegs?? This seems like a pretty common problem.
I've installed homemade vacuum tanks on several trucks, hard part is finding a place to mount them.
Made the tanks out of a 12" length of PVC pipe with a cap glued on each end, 1/4" port drilled and tapped into into it. Barbed hose adaptor connects one hose to anywhere in the vacuum system. On a 2 wheel ABS truck there is room to mount this on the driver's side inner fender. On 4 wheel ABS about the only place is on the front of the radiator mount.
