Brake Light Switch
Brake Light Switch
After reading a few threads about why my brake lights are staying on, I came to the conclusion that its the brake light switch behind the brake pedal. If I slightly lift the pedal with my foot the lights will turn off. So I just went and bought a new switch, even though I might be able to fix the existing one, I figured better to just get a new one. Seems like the old one is sticking.
So the question is, how do I get the old one out...Doesn't seem to just pop out easily, there are now instuctions with the new one. And it seems like I can easily mess up the wire harness, if I don't do it right. Theres not a lot of room down there...
Anybody thats done this before, please share with me what to do and not to do.
Thanks

I had that problem when I swapped pedals for my 5spd swap. The lights wouldn't go out unless u pulled up on the pedal slightly. So just layed a small tack weld where the pedal would hit the switch and that took care out it by filling the gap needed. I'll check the manual I have for the switch removal, because i'm not sure.
there is an adjustmen on the switch if you didnt try it just pull the actuator all the way out and install there are detents in the switch to hold it in the right position. the switch comes out by pressing in on the sides of the switch.
