braided steel hoses

I have a bunch of braided steel hoses and fittings left over from various projects throughout the years, and I was thinking of replacing my fuel lines and fittings. What do ya'll think - good idea? If so, what size lines and fittings do you recommend? Any potential negatives - more volume, less pressure etc.? In case you're wondering, this particular notion hatched out of my desire to add a fuel pressure gauge due to my research on this site. The expertise and advice here has been great for my truck, but no so good to my wallet! As always, thanks for your thoughts!

Biggest problem I've found with braided lines is with engine vibration they can saw though anything they touch. Guess if you tie them down well and watch out what they touch there should be no problem. Personally I can't see how avoiding touching anything under the dash is even possible.

Thanks, I agree that running braided steel under the dash would be challenging, and probably not the best thing to do. What about the supply and return lines from the tank to the pump and whatnot? I kinda like the idea of replacing the banjo fittings, but that's pretty much just a gut feel on my part - experience and science are usually better decision criteria.

Im not sure what kind of braided hoses you have but if they aren't rated for diesel I personally wouldn't use them...

Ya make sure there not rubber , but if they are paid for , then its just more work later , maybe yrs.
As for size , as long as they are big enough , to big would not be a problem ,on the pressure side , just take longer to fill up , once the lines are full it would be the same pressure , it may be harder for the Lift Pump to pull fuel from the tank .

I've got some SS braided fuel hose that's teflon-lined. Do you think that'll hold up to biodiesel?

I haven't had any issues with Teflon braided hose for any fuel application.
Biggest problem is getting the proper fittings to adapt to things like the stock pick-up and so on.

If you do not know what there made of then you will not know if they'll hold up .
The higher the consitration of bio the sooner the rubber get mushy , it may take a few yrs. with a low % [ 20 ] of bio ,
