blowing oil out dipstick

we have a 94 with 330,000 miles, since we put on an exhaust brake we are getting oil blowing out of the dipstick.... this only happens durring med. to hard braking. not at all the rest of the time... if I don't use the brake or turn it off it does not happen.. truck run great otherwise. it does use about 1 quart per 1,000 miles. but power is great. any idea's?
thanks mark

I don't know what kind of brake you installed but most require you also install 60 lb valve springs to go with it on a '94.
Pac-Brake brand don't require the heavier springs but you must remove a bolt though the butterfly that allows excess back pressure to escape.
If the springs are the cause of the problem quit using the brake immediately as it will cause engine damage.

you might want to check out the blow by tube, there is a filter on the side of the engine cover. after 330k it may be plugged or the blow by tube crimped or stopped up.

Maybe your valve guides are leaking? Does it use/burn any oil? The back pressure could be pushing through them and pressurizing the crankcase. Seems like it could happen, I could be wrong though, just a theory.

well I did check the tube today. No air seems to be coming out of if, on my 98 there is pulsating air coming out. also the tube is pretty much dry. I was not able to get the tube off today tho. it's pretty hard to get to behind the fuel filter. I will prob. work on it tomorow. is there a plate with a filter behind it. does anyone have a picture of this?
thanks for the help...

Hard to get a picture of this area and even harder to get at the filter, it's a major job. I never did one but by looking at it the injection pump will need to be removed. I personally would be tempted to drill a hole in one of the valve covers for a new breather rather than go though the hassle of getting at the stock filter.

The only breather filter clogs I've heard of have been the result of long term gasser instead of diesel engine oil use.
