Cummins blowing oil out dipstick
We have a samsung excavator at work with a cummins in it. I believe its like 8.1. I can check on that if it is important. Under a load its blows oil out the dipstick. Doesnt have excess blowby or anything. Somewhere around 10,000 hours on the machine. Any ideas what would cause this? Crankcase breather?

Yeah, I'd pull the breather and make sure it isn't obstructed.
A neighbor had a big tractor, though, that seemed to run fine and have normal blowby while you were standing by it, but once you set a plow into the ground it would launch the dipstick.
Cause was broken rings.

no compressor on an excavator, not any Samsung I've worked on. Usually the breather on equipment is just a hose hanging off the valve cover. When we used the hydrometer to check the Detroit series 60's at the truck shop we put them on the dyno and loaded the engine to check the blow by.
If it don't have a filtered/sealed type breather that can be cleaned then I'd be thinking piston rings as well. 10,000 hours is a pretty good bit of time in the dirt and dust and depending on your maintenance routine, oil used, filters cleaned it may be time for a refreshment. At the Cat dealer there was only one customer that would push the 20,000 hour mark on his engines/transmissions. He had a rigorous maintenance routine, ran excellent oil and would get 16, 000, 18,000 hours out of his stuff routinely. I actually think I did do a transmission for him that had 20,000+ hours on it though. Been to long....

I hope its not rings or something major...I changed the oil last week did filters and changed the crankcase breather cap deal. Seems to have cleared it up. Ran all day today and I cant see any oil spit out. We have plenty of dust and dirt in West Texas but I think its still got plenty of life. Ive got liebherr with big cylinder with over 16,000 hours. Probably should knock on wood after saying that.

Scraper,
I hope the blowby tube is not clogged and you solved the problem. If not, and someone has been starting it with starting fluid, it's likely broken or stuck rings causing severe blowby under load and also even harder starting.
