I never really heard of a 97 with a 53 block. Mine is a 97 block and it has some scrambled numbers. As long is it is not #53 I would not worry about it.

BOOSTEDTE37- I would be more worried about what that Fram oil filter that is on your engine in your pix is doing to your engine, then what block # u have!!! get that thing off of there! get a wix, fleetguard, or baldwin or even a mopar brand, but get that orange sucker off of there befor you ruin your engine!, do a search on regards of oil filters and you will see what I am talkin about!

Hey thanks for the heads up, I just bought the truck from my uncle a couple of months ago and I was fixing to change all the fluids this weekend. That is a couple of nice bucks on your tailgate nothing like that down here on the gulfcoast.

YAh, thanks! I finally got the head mount back of the 13 pointer, and gonna get it scored. I got a sports show to go to this weekend to show it off, and shake hands and tell the story how I shot them about 3000 fricken times! There is a tdr meeting this weekend to, up in MN that I would like to go to also, but I do not think I am gonna make it!

What will it score? hopefully around the 160-170 mark!, I am not sure if you mean by your question, but the they have licensed scorers that offically score the rack by takeing measurements of all the beams and tally everything up and come up with a score!, My dad has one hanging that scored 198 3/4 in the boone and crocket! , Mine is close but not as perfect matches between left and right, and the tines on mine measure 12 1/2 inches long on the longest ones, and his measured 14 1/4. When I get it scored oficially, I will let you know!

Actually we have 18-19 guys in our group right now! It takes more then this for the area we hunt! we had a few more, but they wnt seperate ways after some other altercastions durring the coarce of the year. I do not have any pix of my dads myself, but I will try to get some. If you were serious about hunting up here I will see what I can do to ask the group, but this teritory gets pretty hairy and some of our guys hate newbies! but it cost so much money for out of staters to come to Iowa to hunt is the main thing, I think its like $200or $300 something for out of state!
