Bleeding the Water Seperator
with my first gen truck anyway, put an oil drain pan under the truck, and under the fuel filter there is a little valve and a tube pointing down. Simply push the little valve UP and fuel/water will flow out the tube. 1/4 cup or so usually gets whatever water is in there.
that's it.... for a first gen truck anyway. You should go into your user CP and put the data on your truck in your signature so we all know what you're running when we try to answer your questions.

chances are it's the plug. They very seldom get water in them. Unplug it and spray the pins with WD40 then plug it back in.
If that doesn't do it, you just press up on the black plastic tabs that are above the clear hose. It's spring loaded, you can just try to catch the fuel in a bucket.

Yup everything they said is true, I got a good bit of water in my fuel a month or two back when I went mud rompin' and ended up going through some pretty hardy stuff with water on top
I just drained mine in a parking lot a few miles done the road from where it came on...

There is presently something stuck between the pins on my filter , my WIF light came on the first time I started the truck after my last oil change. Tried draining it , light was still on, I unplugged it , and the light stays out
