So I need some input on the first things to do. I already took the silencer ring off but that's it so far. The engine has 200k on it and I've never seen cleaner oil in a truck. Valve covers are leaky but no other leaks. Transmission was replaced two years ago and is awesome. It's mighty slushy right now with a trailer behind it but empty it will scoot. I was thinking about plugging the waste gate but don't have gauges yet. I just need reminders of all the little odd and ins that I can do to the engine and get it up to speed. The exhaust is pretty rich at idle so I'm pretty sure I need to replace the fuel lines. I'm also planning on getting rid of the cat this week. I'll get some pics up as soon as I can. It sure feels good to be back!
do you want to trade?

It would take another good 2500 to trade for this one. It's hard to find one that hasn't been fooled with or ragged out. Mine being an original owner who took it to a shop for everything, it's a rare find. They're out there but tough to find at the right price. I just got back from Kentucky this weekend where I picked up my goose neck trailer and brought it back to Georgia. I was really pleased with the way it pulled. It does great on two lane roads with the over drive off and even better on the interstate at speeds over 60. Only thing I didn't like was the in between 55 and 60 mph. Too high rpm for O/D off and too low for O/D on. I am planning on putting a 3k gov spring kit in but I'm still waiting on gauges so I'm expecting that to help. I also still have to kill the kdp and bump the timing and that's on the top of the list.

If the fuel heater is still on I would take it off. It can cause problems.

I watched a video on here on how to bypass it. I did take it apart and clean it. The only thing I don't like about removing it is loosing the pre-filter. I guess the main filter is sufficient and I could probably add a pre-filter.

You can remove the heater and leave the filter on.
