often it is better to just get a truck that has four wheel drive.

Is your truck a Cab and Chasis or is it a regular 2wd pick-up. The cab and chasis trucks are easy to convert. The front suspension is the same as a 4wd. Swap axles and use a 4wd trans transfercase. Then put the shifter through the floor. The independent front suspension w a arms is a lot more involved
