Alright, whats the deal...
On my newly acquired '94 Dodge CTD that is a donor vehicle for my project, I have been looking at the engine and notice there is an awful lot of wiring for a "mechanical" engine. My main question is what is the least amount of wiring I need for this engine to run. The simpler things are, the better I like it, and the better my blood pressure is The only things I would need left on is the grid heaters, whatever it takes to get a tach reading and the obvious starter wiring. Honestly, it could very well be that I just plain don't understand most of the wiring involved...I would however like to learn all that I can if I had some help....

I completely stripped my harness from ym 12v. I'm not going to be using the grid heaters. Its going to be swapped in to a 79 Ford, so tach will be aftermarket. Alternator will use an external regulator like what has been posted on here by Infidel. I'm gonna use a pull cable for the fuel shut off, so the solenoid and wiring can go (its actually on my 24v now), and your oil pressure and water temp you will have to make work with your conversion. You grid heaters depend on your intake temp and water temp, but you could set it up on a switch in the cab if you want to eliminate the PCM. Its not as slick as it being automatic, but be much easier to install.

A manual switch for the grid heaters is nothing, I used to have a manual over-ride for my glowpugs in the old truck because the factory PCM wouldnt light them off for long enough so they weren't really doing a whole lot.
Pull cable for fuel shut-off is another good one
Oil Pressure and water temp can just be mechanical gauges cant they?
Thanks for the pic Stamey, Thats exactly the sort of thing I like to see
Tate, I may be in touch with you for some help on different swap questions... Thanks for your replys fellas
