air filter indacator

Question air filter indacator

hi

how is the filter indacator on a 98 12 v held in the air box?

mine is sitting in some sort of loose ruber groomet that is closed on the end so i dont see how it could posabliy work ?

any one have a pict ?

Look again at the grommet end of the "FilterMinder" that you are talking about.
Get the light in the right spot and you'll see there's a tiny hole that communicates with the vacuum on the clean side of the filter.
I didn't believe mine would move at all either... I pulled a vacuum on the underside and it does moves after all.

Yeah mine quit moving after installing the Amsoil filter and swiss cheesing the airbox. Still don't move with a BHAF!! Stock it would show a 5% reduction just from a full throttle pull, even with a new airfilter.

The Filter Minder is held firmly in place by a rubber grommet. There is a small hole at the end of the mounting stem that provides access to vacuum in the air induction system.
While running the engine, completely block off the air intake, and the Filter Minder will move up in the clear window.
