advance injector pump timing
Ok.. Well when I did my timing, my friend had the tools. So we did the front end crank seal, KDP and timing all in one shot. The gasket for the timing cover was $45 I think. But I didn't add the crank seal to my list. With the cover off, we made sure we inspected the gear for surface finish on the shaft and possible cracks.
So for a more simple timing adjustment, then no seal really I guess. Geeze. What I was getting at is for a shop to do the job properly, Ie. Verify TDC, correctly set pump timing and install gear to correct torque, the rate is normal IMHO..

no i did not buy the tools..called around a few shops one didnt even know how to time a cummins another was much more$ the shop i took it to was highly recomended and fair price in this city(colorado springs) i might have gottin better deal in denver but wasnt willin to drive up their..
i studied the link from infidel and decided not to try my self..now ive done alot of work on this rig myself just wasnt ready for timming, valves easy enough but it was in shop..
i got my new prefilter screen and gaskets (genos) whitch i will do myself today. im not givin up on timming though when im comfortable with how it works i will do it. i did KDP my self peace of cake but this stumps me.
