Adjusting the pump questions??
I know this has been covered a million times but I have a few questions. I personally do not have a p-pump truck first of all. A budy of mine bought a bone stock low mileage 97 5 speed 4x4. It was for lack of better words "a dog". He took it too a diesel shop and had them turn it up. He said he watched them remove the rear cover (access to the gvernor arm adjusting screw) and turn the lower screw "some" then they messed with the star wheel. The tech never removed the afc housing or even removed the break off screw too it. Also blocked the wast gate. No other mods were done, said it took less then an hour. This thing runs amazing!! Pulls a loaded trailer with ease!!! I am under the impression you need to workwith the fuel plate to get lots of power from these. How did this tech do it without removing the afc housing??
Thanks, Danny
Thanks, Danny

Star wheel and plugging the WG line will make a difference. Get into the AFC housing, slide the plate forward and put the AFC full forward as well. Should be way more than he has now....
The screw in the back must have put the arm on a different area of the plate?
