About had it with my truck

Okay heres my problem when my 1995 12v 2500 is put in gear rpms drop to 500 throttle has no response almost wants to choke out the motor and sometimes does. Had this problem before put in a new tranny torque converter all new lines and coolers. Still has the problem. Put in new tps made no diffrence. All throttle linkage and cables are good. What could this be at all i need help any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks
Connor

What is the idle sitting at in neutral/park? It should be around 700-750 in gear with a/c on, So if it is sitting around 800-850 in neutral that should make it close. Unless you have a super tight converter?

Idle is adjusted on the back of the injection pump, a search should show a diagram. A lot of the time the linkage wears a notch in the adjuster screw, just just a 1/4 turn either way gets it back to normal.

Have you checked the fuel filter and prefilter?

sounds like your converter is dragging its lockup clutches (they can notch themselves into the basket just like a dirtbike) or the stall speed on the converter is crazy low, either way you would notice drastic movement of the truck the second you dropped it into gear with your foot was off the brake if the converter was at fault. my 1995 automatic's idle is set to a nice rythimic 500 RPM and when I put it into gear it barly dropps at all, the ac will cause it to drop to 450 at times, but never ever dies.

Okay guys thanks. fuel filters are brand new, rpms drop and truck will literally drop to the bottom of the tach and have zero pedal at all

Did you check run solenoid? is it pulling up completely? Try disconnecting linkage allow lever to go up completely. I'v seen lever bind up and not go to full fuel position. Engine would have no power or throttle responce. Any corrostion or bad connections on battery wires to run solenoid causing voltage drop to solenoid?

Will it bog down and stall when you press the pedal to go in gear? If no, then do what infidel advise. But you can get a banjo bolt snubber already done and don't have do build one yourself for around $20. Some time's the OFV goes bad.
