New Truck - old one had more rear springs

I recently traded my 99 for a 2003. Both had towing package, but I noticed that new truck has a single set of rear leaf springs vs my 99 that had a second set - maybe they were stock overloads. I did not notice if the new truck's main springs were any heavier than the 99's main springs.

Do you think the 99's main leaf springs were the same as the 03's?

How much pin weight will the 03 handle before I should consider overloads to manage my 5er?
Re:New Truck - old one had more rear springs

nailzsn, the 2003 rear springs on your 2500 the are heavier than previous 99. If you had a set of helper springs on the 99, that was part of the camper package. With the wider frame and heaver springs the camper pkg is not offered. The 3500 does have a helper spring for the extra weight rating

Sierra Phil, Thanks. I just got back from putting about 600 miles towing. The springs look like they work fine. Does set a little higher than the 99 and trailer springs are already inverted.
