?? about a 96 cummins.

I am looking at getting a 2nd gen with a 12v in it. but it has a bad miss to it. like it has a dead CYL. it has 191k on it 5sp 4x4. dully reg cab. i smelled the oil it dosn't smell like fuel. and its not makeing a bunch of blowby out the oil cap. What do you guys think the problem may be? could it be a injection pump? bad injector? lobe off the cam? whats the most common thing to make this problem? also when you start it "when its cold" it runs RUFF for a minute or too. The price is right on it but i also don't wanna be stuffing a boat loada money into it.

Any ideas would be apprecated. as i am looking at buying it in the next week or so if it works out for me.

well i know ive seen bad stuff out of ones running fram oil filters, such as bits of the filter element breaking loose and plugging the spray holes on the piston causing the piston to overheat and scortch. but it could also be an injector
