got a 97 p pump that wont start if i push the go pedal 1/2 way it will start run at 2000 rpm for a couple seconds then die. any ideas

need this thing going asap

 

How full is your tank? Mine did that befor i replaced the overflow valve. It would start do that then die it would do it around 3 times befor starting and idleing well. It also seemed to only do it when i was at or less than 1/4 of a tank.

I think i found it
the shut down solenoid was stuck hit it with a full 12V now it seems to be opening all the way

I wonder how often the solenoids go bad?
