97 12v CTD smoking all the time
clogging up a set of injectors to me merely is costs of adding to the database of knowledge for running waste oils.
so far there is no documented failures of 12v fuel injection/lift pumps from running ATF.
if I'm the first .... so be it.
I'm betting it won't happen. more worried about failure from running too thick of a mixture.
when my injectors clogged on a 700 mile run... I dumped aprox. 20 gal of new 15/40 motor oil into my tank that already had a 90% mixture of waste oils.
thermostat failure caused engine to run cold. last half of run occurred late at night in a thunderstorm. that's when I first lost power indicating time of injectors clogging.
I'm thinking more in lines of 50/50% mixture when running thicker engine oils. 75/25% for ATF due to thinner weight
