94 and 95 automatic owners answer please
Do any of you all have a pretty noticeable knocking/rattling noise in the cab when its cold. Mine is most noticeable around 2100rpm's. i dont think its the motor, because I can hold the t-case shifter and make it stop. Its weird, and I have noticed it on other 94 and 95 auto's but not any other cummins. Mine only does it if its around 45* or colder. its loudest when the truck is still cold, but still noticeable even at operating temp's. Its the worst under hard throttle. I dont feel that its hurting anything because it has done it every winter since I have had it, but it is annoying. just wondered if anyone has any ideas what it could be, or if your alls trucks do it too? I have adjusted the valves with no difference. Im stumped as to what it could be. The noise isnt noticeable if you rev it in neutral/park... Could it be the transmission?? Thanks for any help

The T case shifter is known to rattle a bit, especially under load. Mine does. I think that's what you're talking about, right? Is it more of a vibration throughout the truck or is it just in the t-case shifter? I remember reading somewhere about putting a spring somehwhere down there on the linkage to stop the rattling.
My T case shifter rattles bad when it is cold... drives me insane , expecially if there is anything metal sitting in the boot that can rattle too... I have found that firmly pushing down on the shift lever usually makes it go away.

Well, sounds like JKM's does the same exact thing as mine. Why is it worse when it is cold though? It was about 45* here today, and it almost didnt do it at all. I just dont understand why it does it. Ill have to see if I can get a fix for it though. Its just really annoying. Flexplate is good, cause I have had the tranny out twice.

Mine does the same thing, under load it rattles and if I hold the tcase lever it stops. I'm going with "its not hurtin anything" diagnosis. But if anybody has anything else I'll take it. Hearing that yours (cumminsdriver635) does the same thing makes me feel better! Cheers.

Yeah, I know man. Thats the main reason I posted was to get some confirmation that mine wasnt the only one out there doing it. It is still wierd to me that they do it, but I dont think it is hurting anything, so ill keep on truckin till it does.
