90 horse injectors and problems

ok so today after work i installed my new 90 hp injectors from Pensacola Fuel Inj. and i also adjusted the timing to 17*. the trouble im having now is a rough running condition and if i have it in 3rd coasting down a hill with the TC in lock and try to accelerate again it pops and farts and lots of blue smoke. it will run ok to about 18-1900 rpm then sounds like it looses fuel altogether and stalls out then comes back to life with a vengeance good power and super fast turbo spool but still a bit rough. ive pinched off the return line and it still does it so im not convinced the overflow is at fault altho its on my list of things to change. the injectors came with copper washers on them however they also sent 6 other copper washers with them. i compared and they looked exactly the same thickness. new fuel filter BTW. am i missing something? any ideas?

Are you confident in your timing settings? Have you done it before? You may have retarded it by mistake, or it could have slipped. More likely, I'd suspect the injectors. Pensacola has a bad rep, so thats where I would start. Toss your old ones in, then report back.

turns out the timing sliped i evidently did not put enuf torque on the shaft nut. went thru timing again its alot better now. still have a flutter above 2250 but i can live with that for now. it doesnt do it under load so i wont notice it going down the road. since changing the tiing it seems to idle lower now which isnt all that good because it wud harly idle cold on its own before. guess ill have to actually go and change the idle now. Tate whats the bad rep outta PFI all about? i hadnt seen or heard anything in the forum bad about PFI...anyway ill keep you guys updated on how these injectors perform

Do a search in here, you'll see the issues that have come along. Sub par performance and wrong parts seem to the jist of it though.

What did you set your timing to? Correct chart for the pump (don't rely on CPL, if pumps have been replaced in the past)? I'd still consider dropping the stock injectors in and see if your issues clear up. Shouldn't be popping at 2250, especially with a timing bump.

its between 16.5-17* timing i used the timing procedure laid out in the chrysler tsb found on Genos website. its not popping anymore it really a flutter like its not getting quite all the fuel it wants. im pretty sure the OFV is on its way out. i need to install a Fuel Press gauge to be sure. these injectors seem to give the engine some better pull in accel and also a shade darker smoke.
