Question 100 horse injectors?

Would 100 horse injectors be too much for my rig? Or should I just go with rv275's? I want to add some more power for towing/mileage. But I don't want alot of smoke or have to be worried about egt's. I never get to far over 2k rpm and do not race. Just want to bump my power up for towing.

Thanks in advance for any advice given!

that would be a pretty hot set-up for towing.and if that tranny is stock,it wouldnt live long, especially with 315`s.i ran that set-up for quite a while and it had some good power, but you have to watch it..........bama

id throw some 275's in or some II 2 flows in, they are both really clean power. The 2 flows are a little more power

My 100 horse nozzles get hot with a 5k load, so I would not suggest them for heavy towing.

Well, in all fairness, there's tons of EGT difference between some old-school DD3 injectors and some newer injectors.

That said, the original poster has a truck with the tiny HY35 turbo and torch-hot EGT will be easy to attain with modest fueling enhancements.

I'd say you want to forget about adding injectors of ANY kind unless you upgrade your turbocharger first. The HX35 from a manual transmission truck would work well, and the HE341 from an 03 or 04 truck would work even better (newer technology and designed to support 300hp or more). All of these OEM turbos from other trucks could be had for modest cost.

Other guys have added tons of fuel to an HY35, but I'd discourage it. If you want to increase the towing power of your rig, I'd encourage you to look at a product with some timing to it. The XZT you have now is fueling only, from what I understand.

He has the XZT+ in his signature...is the HE341 a significant improvement over the HX35 or is it a good candidate for hybridization?

Looking at doing the same thing. I tow a 5k+ boat and am wanting more of the tow power as well. Will the HX-35 or the HE341 bolt right up? And then after would the RV275s, Mach1/1.6 or Jammer 2/3(nozzles) be ok without high egts? Thanks for the info.

Mine will peg 1500F in a few seconds w/Comp on 5X2. Clutch is starting to slip a little too.

I have Stage 3 nozzles which are suposed to be 100hp. I can tow my #8000 TT without any egt issues unless I'm pulling a long grade and then all I have to do is back out of it a little. I pulled it last week with the XZT+ in the timing only setting and didn't notice any difference in EGTs. Now if I turn it to the performance settings, not only will the torque conv. slip, the egts will go through the roof.

OK-- thought I saw XZT.

The HE341 is already something of a "hybrid". Think of them as a 35/40 hybrid with a little more efficiency and a hair faster spoolup.

Hohn,

I did not know of the advances in injector tech. The nozzles were on the truck when I bought it. I have been wanting to look into some F1 sticks for my next mod, and now I have some more incentive. Thanks!

Let's just say that it's easier to drive without smoke with my 150hp Don M sticks than with my DD2s. Manual trans helps..

You've got to quit saying that or else I'll never be able to sell my DD2s when the time comes to step up to some M4s.
