4wd Low range wants to keep popping out into N for some reason. 2high and 4high work fine. Is the transfer case just worn out or is something not adjusted right? I have posi lock if it matters. Any Ideas

 

Is it possible that you are not moving the lever all the way to engage completely? You may think it is locked in, but there is more room to move the shift lever. I find it easier to turn the truck off going into 2lo

 

I don't think thats the problem I tried 4-5 times to get it to stay in I was hooked to a 4door duraxmax and I had a 5x5round bale in the back of my truck. It would stay in till right up intill it was about to break traction then it would pop out.

Ive heard there are some plastic bushings/pads in the top that can wear out and cause this. Anybody got an exploded view of a transfer case or places that sell rebuild parts. I have a 241?????

 

 

Thanks infidel, I might take it apart and see if anything looks out of the ordinary. Dont see any plastic padsbushings in the pic or am i just blind. Anybody know what could cause it. I was driving around my yard today real slow in 2wd low and everything seemed fine? Something is wornout and gets put in a bind it pops out. Donesn't sound like any gears are striped ect cause there is no grinding noise that I can hear.
