48-47 re valve body swap
48-47 re valve body swap
i have converted my 47 re to a 48re. installed converter, pump, stater, planets and clutches. just wonderering if any trans techs out there know if the 48 valve body can be used and what the benefits are. i know the rooster needs to be swapped, and the 48 runs 10 psi more in o/d lock up.
Why would you want to do that? Big difference in the vb is the 48RE is more electronic control, where the 47RE had electric TCC and OD, then added the electric governor - the 47RH was full hydraulic control with electric TCC control
The 48RE has stronger input shaft\hub\clutch and overdrive clutch, which is a good upgrade for the 47 series, but imo you don't need or want the added electrics - read thru the info on the patc site for more........
