so i have a 97 dodge cummins 5 speed 5.9 12v that I got in july and i think my T-Case went completely out i can shift into all the gears including 4wd but the truck wont move...does anyone have any suggestion on what to check before i pull her apart?

 

If you can feel detents in all of the TC positions, I would suspect a broken trans output shaft, perhaps a weld job on the 5th gear nut?

 

Could be a number of things. Could be a broken clutch, broken input, broken mainshaft, input in the t-case. You could pull your shifter out of the tranny, engage two gears and try to rotate the driveshaft (rear end off the ground/2wd). If its locked up, then you're looking at the input or clutch failure. If it turns freely, you're looking at mainshaft or t-case failure.

 

Is there any vacuum lines that might cause it? Like the 4wd line.
