24V intake on a 12v
Anyone know if a 24 valve intake manifold will fit on a 12 valve? My friend is swaping a aftermarket on to his truck (01') and I was wondering if I can use his on my truck.

Yes
I did this on my truck, and there is a pic in my album. The ports are different and you will need to take an hour or two with a grinder to get it to fit. You DO NOT want to grind the ports to match the gasket as you will remove too much material. If you look at the 12V head you will see the port is significantly smaller than the manifold port, or at least it was on mine. Basically, you just need to grind the round ports top and bottom to make them rectangular. It took about 1/8" top and about 1/4" in the corners to square it. Then blend it back about 1/2-3/4" so you get a good transition. With a good carbide cutter you can do it in an hour or so. Leave as much material as you can so you have a good sealing surface.

You're talkning about the exhaust manifold, he's talking about the intake air horn.

I'll try it out, I can have a sparky at work bend me a new mid pipe if I need it.
turbos10 - That info doesn't help now, but it will come in handy later if I need to replace the exhaust.

There is no advantage to using the 24v horn unless your 12v had egr.The next issue will be tight clearance at the master cylinder. The angles are diff between the 2 as well.
Sorry I do not have a good pic of the 12v horn to compare
