Can someone who has taken one out of their truck or rebuilt one tell or show me where the vent is on the case and what it looks like - ie a hose or porous brass.

I found an exploded view of the transfer case by searching, but it doesn't show the vent hole or parts associated with it.

Where is a good place to buy individual parts? Seaching the web, all I could find is complete rebuilt units. Even Dodge dealer websites just offer the three seals and complete transfer cases.

My transfer case is leaking oil from somewhere up top, towards the front where is mates with transmision (my best guess). The transmission isn't full of T-case oil, I checked that so that front seal is good on the t-case. And the fluid leaking out is definately red ATF so its not the transmission (my truck is a manual). I've topped off the t-case once allready and it took about a quart and half of fluid.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

It's about 3o'clock on the front output-shaft side, just back of the stud-face, between the face and the range switch - if atf is blowing outta the vent, the xfer case must be overfull
