how many types of transfer case?
I was under the impression that Dodge offered 2 types of transfer case, the 241 dld and the 241 dhd in its Cummins pwered trucks. I am replacing a bent main shaft in a transfer case that has a 241dh tag on the back. It also has the date sticker on the top of the rear half and it says 241 dh. this sticker looks like a bar code. it lists the case as a 99 0r 2000 model.
I talked with george at Rocland Standard and he said the 241 dh had a pto cover on the passenger side. This xfer case has NO pto cover on it. My understanding is the main shafts from dld to dhd were different. Is it possible that the pto option was dropped in the 99 and 2000 models? or that a dld main shaft will fit the dhd case?
thanks in advance
sorry for the repeat questions my computer isnt refreshing pages when I visit this ite

there are numerous configurations of those xfer cases , some have a speedo gear depending if it is a manual or auto. some have like you said pto's and if you are looking for a DHD it will have a one peice tailshaft housing
