12v block number 5

12v block number 5

whats the history on a block with a big 5 and smaller numbers 9 05 if i remember the small ones??just bought a 215 out of a truck build date 11/97.what do you guys think??miles 171755 thanks

Make sure the "3" isn't ground off next to the 5.

Thats what I first thought of when I saw this topic a couple months ago. Low and behold, my 12v also has the '5' block. No grindage that I could tell.

sweet pump, that means the truck it came out of was 98 or 97 5spd and the miles seem pretty low still wouldn't worry about anything with the pump or block its a 12v, i don't think 53 blocks which u might wanna worry about if you had a 24v-98.5-00

FWIW, there are 12v 53 blocks that have cracked, its not just a 24v thing.

That's the first time I've heard that. Not that I don't believe it though. I thought they used a different casting on the 12v 53 blocks.

I posted in here a couple times about another member snatching two 53 blocked 12v's. One of them donated the goods to p-pump his 24v.
