03 5 inch exhaust??

Well I do not tow anymore, and I am ready to make my truck obnoxiously loud.

I am thinking 5 inch straight pipe turbo back exhaust. But it seems that most kits only offer a 4 inch down pipe that turns into 5 inch. why is this? any kits that offer 5inch turbo back? will I have to get rid of my spare tire with 5 inch?

O and stacks are out of the question

found some cheap kits on ebay for under $400, system only needs to last about two years so it does not need to be stainless.

Thanx,
Rambunctious.

I love my ebay kit. I bought mine about 2 years ago. 5" turbo back straight pipe. think i paid 250.00 for it, and 50 bucks for a local exhaust shop to weld it all up

I put a 5" turbo back on my 06 and it's pretty rediculously loud intown echoing off stuff! the only bad part(which my girlfriend hates) is theres a pretty bad drone right at 65 mph. ive had stacks before so it doesnt bother me!

the system i used is Expandit system i bought from luke at http://dieseldawgs.com/ it was $290 shipped to my door! just alluminized but heck who cares. no way im putting a 700$ stainless system on a truck ill prolly total out with a deer in a year.

oh yeah and the install was ooooh so easy! getting the old exhaust hacked out of there was more work then the rest of it! dropped my EGT's prolly 150 degs. too

They probably can't find an adapter to go from your 3.5" elbow to the 5" pipe. Can you get a 4" in/out elbow and then get a 5" DP?

I got my system from Rolling Smoke Diesel and it was 290 shipped to my door and arrived really quick. Install was really easy and it sounds great. I love a loud diesel and have had stacks before so the drone doesn't bother me at all. i would suggest a tip to finish it off though, it will help the truck sound alot better. just my .02. oh and i have an 04.5 but i did get the 5" downpipe with the system. may want to give them a shout and see what they have to say. really good guys to deal with. good luck

another vote for dieseldawgs. i ordered it from them and recieved it within 3 days. i have a 03 straight piped i got a week ago and its pretty obnoxious! o my neighbors love me! as far as the downpipe, i think the 04.5's and up have a bigger elblow. they told me to change the elbow if i wanted the bigger downpipe, in my head i guess it just wasnt worth it.

Check out fullspectrum performance. I just put a 5" on mine and it is really loud. They also have 5" kits for 03 and 04. I just helped my buddy put one on his standard output 03 5sp. His sounds way better than mine. His has a deeper tone, mine is just freakin loud! I think they were $318 with free shipping. It's alluminized but I put some heat paint on it. Looks pretty good.

So you have the 4 inch down pipe to 5 inch? also, did you start with a simple muffler delete and then jump up to a bigger exhaust?

I am trying to figure out how much louder it will be by getting rid of the factory piping and straight pipe.

I think I will get a six in pipe and weld it on the end like I have done with the 5 inch on my factory tailpipe

any idea on the cost of the turbo elbow? and where to find, if its high ill pass.

after a couple emails and phone calls, I do not think I will mess with the elbow, so it looks like 4 inch down pipe and 5 inch back exhaust is in my near future.

Any fitment issues with the cross members or spare tire?

i heard some straight piped stockers and wasn't that impressed. the stock exhaust was a pain to get off, esp the down pipe but the expandit i did myself without a lift in about 45mins and im a carpenter not a mechanic. i think ill end up getting a small muffler because i do quite a bit of towing but if your looking to go obnoxious u just ordered it, hahaha. the hardest part about the fit is around the spare tire. mine just barely touches but i think im either gunna scrap the spare (i have 35s anyways) or try and bend the bracket. as far as tip goes, i have a 8" i think im gunna weld on as soon as i get some time to cut back the 5 so u cant see it and put the tig to the 8"
