acetone vrs methonal
I was not sure where to post this one so here it goes...I have a methonal injectoin kit on my truck. I mostly use winter windshild fluid as methonal is hard to find.
However Acetone is easy to find
After doing a bit of reseach, it seems acetone in the fuel has many benifits but have no idea how a say 30% acetone water mix would do instead of meth at the same %
Ideas????

I just did a little brief reading, it looks like acetone will burn much different than methanol... it may be to flammable, like injecting gasoline... it was just a brief read, I didn't go into heavy research.

I am in Summerville SC.
And yes it mixes with water very well..We get it in tote tanks at work and I use it everyday there as a solvent.
I know its great to remove water from gasoline.
It also breaks up the surface tension of water and some other liquids. It is really close in it's propertys to alchol (it can be made from it by adding a Bacteria of all things..)
I guess i need to look at the flash point of each etc...

Methanol has a pretty stable burn. Acetone wouldn't be too friendly to many seal materials. Thinned down or not, I'd be real skeptical about putting it into an engine that isn't cheap to rebuild or replace.
