Custom toyhauler financing ????

I want to get one of these Millennium Trailer with this floor plan '12 Dinette. It'll have a 16' garage with 20' of living qtrs...of course it'll be loaded up like a normal RV with all the creature comforts. Anyway, I was planning on using local financing but unfortunately, they won't loan on anything that's not in the NADA or Kelly Blue Book system so I've got to go somewhere else. I've looked at Bank of America and submitted an online app but of course they're closed until tomorrow so I can't get any feedback. Any suggestions on a lender that might touch one of these?

Have you looked at a local credit union? I financed my Keystone through the local CU and it took less than 20 minutes for them to sign off on it.

I called the CU and got as far as their rates which were still a little high for my liking and didn't discuss it with a loan officer. If I want something like this I might be stuck with a 7% int rate. Bank of Amer said they won't finance a conversion but haven't talked to them yet to see what they classify as a conversion.

I'm wanting to make sure I can get this before I sell my current TT.

Check with ALLY Financial, used to be GMAC. Bank of the West is another who does RV lending. I can't imagine BofA being competitive when you walk in off the street.

Also, it may help to have the dealer investigate. They can get terms (rate and length) not offered directly to borrowers by lenders. Yes, the dealer will get a quarter to half a point, but you may like the term a lot better and you may negotiate a better price if the lender is greasing the dealer.

Neat concept. We always need more storage than living area while out in the bush.

Bank of the West has been good to us.
