Over drive & towing heavy?
Should I keep the trany in OD when towing heavy? I tow a 13,000 lbs. 5er. I always use tow/haul mod. when towing, in a 2010 3500.

Put it in tow haul and let it do its thing. It will shift into 6th when the load and rpms are right as to not cause any damage to the tranny.

Thanks, at times the rpm's would drop, and start to labor. That is when I had the urge to down shift to bring the rpm's up. My concern is to not over heat or cause the convertor to slip. Is this correct or is my understanding of the TC locking wrong.

Mine tows decently with the 3.73 gears. I just put mine in tow mode and down shift before hitting the big hills. The exhaust brake works nice with that gear as well, I downshift and keep the rpm's up and keep my foot off the brake.
