Januaries New year 2020 break room 01/01 to 01/31

Okay folks, I decided to draw the curtain on the old break room and start afresh. We can leave this one open for the month or until people come out of hibernation and have enough activity to go back to a weekly schedule. Took out the trash and gave the place a good firehoseing. Let out the dragon and fed her. Made some fresh coffee and set out assorted goodies with a long shelf life.
Warmed up to +4°, but should stay between +- 5° until Wednesday. The snow plow lady is supposed to show up this morning and relocate our last deposit. I may need to rent a bucket loader to move some of this stuff further away so I will have room for the next.

Holy carp!
A new break room. nice work cougar.
I just completely plowed the yard today for the first time.
I got stuck pushing the snow back as far into the ditch as possible. One front tire ending up sinking down a few inches and even with chains on the old W-350, she would not back out. After a little creative floor jack and blocking in the hole the tire was in, she backed out and finished the job.
I am expecting the UPS guy today and I was sure he was not going to pull into my driveway with 10-12 inches in it.

Well, how about this. An UTD breakroom. Thanks Coug. Love your stories about the snow and moving it all around. Reminds me of my college days in
Minnesota. I did not even go near my car when it was -20 or more. Just walked to work - - that was fun. It was 82 for a high here yesterday. Was working
on the heater for the pool and actually had a few sweat drops on my forehead. Gorgeous day, and January. WOW.

Y'all have a great New Year with lots of success. Should be an interesting one here in the USA with all the "stuff" going on.

Put on fresh coffee and ph00 but didn't have any goodies - - surprised me having a place to post.

PHOO...……… …………………..

Wiped off the counter and put some fresh coffee in the dispensers. Ya know, the dragon makes a good snow plow. Heat her up and stand back.
Wind shifted. Warmed up to -18° from -27° at midnight. Poor little Toyo oil stove is getting a workout. I'm having to supplement with electric heat in the bathroom and bedroom to keep the temperature above 60°. I'm going to have to replace the oil heater with the next size up to improve recovery after the wife leaves the door open in -20° temperatures to unload the frozen groceries from the car. Dumb blond. Been a few years sense its been this cold.

Morning all. Looks like only 3 or 4 of us come here any more. I am amazed when I browse down thru other threads throughout the whole site at
how long it has been since a post in line after line down the list. Sad - - - this was a thriving and excellent source of information and help and
great place to meet and make friends. I have met several that became friends in my travels. Very sad to see it shrink so much.

I put on a fresh short pot of ph00 and one of regular. Left a couple apple fritters on the counter where the dragon can't get them. Dragon
seems to be getting fed and watered. Don't know how???? I will run and get some work done if I can. Had CAT SCAN yesterday of the
guts to see what is happening. Hopefully they come up with answers - been pretty miserable and unable to eat much at all. Hopefully
it is something easily managed.

Have a great day...…………….

The counter says we have had 100 views. Nothing to say I guess.
The wind shifted and now we are getting hot air from Canada instead of the sub zero air out of the interior. Warmed up to 7° above overnight. The wind chill is still murder though.

Thanks for the apple fritter Bob.
The weather here today was more like it should be at this time of year here in Vt. High of 15F and the occasional sunny moment.
The race season started on Tues for me. Good excuse to take a few hours off a week and do a little snowboard / ski racing with some of the locals. We had some fresh snow and a warm 25F day, so the after race free riding was a great way to start the season off.
As a team we placed well so we won a $50 dinner voucher at the local Mexican joint.

I let some granola bars on the counter. I figured if no one stopped by for days they would still be a good snack.

45F and light rain up here. The roofs are sliding and I will fire up the plow later to push back the snow off the roofs and the slushy driveway a bit.
May take the daughter up to the MT to get in some skiing and snowboarding. The light rain scares away the weekend warriors and other goobers. The trails will be much nicer soft and slushy than they will be when it freezes back up and turn to ice.

Hmmmm, a granola bar. OK, I'll bite. ………. ……….Yeh. I eat quite a bit of granola. It is one of my snack choices in spite
of the wheat in it. Made a ph00 and relax a minute with the dragon. Your weather does not sound much like ours. It is 82 out there
right now and the pool is beckoning. Been working on the heat pump for the hot tub all day. Had to manufacture a part no longer
available for it. Took some creativity, patience and finding the right stuff to make the part. Gotta have that thing running when the
son with his kids get here first of next month. Feb can be a cold month - - might even get down to 40 some night - - - horrors. The two
of them sit in hot while the kids play havoc in the pool.

OK, heading for the lanai for some sun and relax my aching back.

Ok, so who did what to scare people away from the break room? Does no one put out food anymore? Sheesh people. It is currently -15F here on the edge of the Rockies. It doesn’t seem fair that it is warmer for Cougar, all the way up in Alaska.

faceboob stole your parishioners. Seems as though it's a little more free and less constraints with language and oversight. People don't get banned as quickly for posting stupid stuff that doesn't hurt anyone but the overly sensitive. I don't partake much, just observe for the most part other than folks looking for parts to refer to Ollie.

In a nutshell, It got so slow here, the lack of interaction leads people elsewhere...

Sent a fella here to these boards to look for Cougar, as he wanted a rebuilt RWABS unit. No idea if he ever found him or not.

Glad to see the 3 regulars still rolling along.

Well, between two appointments I managed to air the dragon a bit, had fun chasing some other critters around.

(Maybe Mrs. Smiths cat will shake off it's catatonia in the next few weeks and eat again, maybe it'll reach normal weight then)

A sight to see when our good ole dragon trees the cat and then burns the tree.

Left some beer in the fridge, please don't give the 80% rum to the dragon, it will want to start a barfight and has an afterburner..

Furnace you!

Moms house, 27 years and countless cycles of heating and cooling. You don't know, until you know, or your carbon monoxide detector goes off, or fails to as in this case. After a malfunctioning temp sensor was going bad, the choice to spend the money was the correct one.

The heat exchanger was cracked due to age and the burners not flaming correctly. Luckily a local service professional took over for me trying to ascertain what was going on.

Dead people tell no lies, but it looks bad on their resume

Cracked heat exchangers all 3 sectiona

Burning insulation is not a good thing

I can drive the dodge through this crack

Coil was unexpectedly clean

New unit muck more efficient

Good morning Tman,

Thank you for reporting your findings, luckily you caught it in time. If left to go on longer the results could have been devastating. Good on you. Now to check my own.

CO detectors need to be tested regularly... else they do just give a false sense of security...

Over here we had a lot of accidents due to gas water heaters and AC creating a slight vacuum in the house.. gas heater exhaust into the bathroom, take a shower and fall, or a bath and submerge.. quietly..Several deaths last summer in our small country.
