Favorite knife brands and EDC?
I have been collecting pocket knives since I was 10. And I have 162 in my collection in all brands in sizes. I have compared some of my knives to today's knives and there just not the same as they were years back.
What is your favorite brand EDC?
I have come to find that CRKT are as solid as they come and durable at an extremely affordable price, so that's my favorite out of everything outhere.
I would like to hear what kind of knife you like the most?

I have a Ken Onion Kershaw Mini Cyclone that I love. It has the Speedsafe system that allows it to open with one hand as fast as a swithchblade but it is a legal setup. Drop point design is pretty universal. I had a Tanto blade design and hated it. The Speedsafe lets you get the knife open with one hand as soon as it clears your pocket. Very handy when you have your other hand-full of a box your trying to open or bad guy. It holds it edge pretty good and can be sharpened easily to a hair shaving edge with my Edge Pro. Your mileage may vary!

The best quality knife that I have ever seen is an Ott Knife, but I am no knife expert by any means. I know Ted personally, and he is one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. I own one of his knives, but I am afraid to use it because it is so nice. Check out the cutting competition video, and of course the knives on his website.

is there some kind of record for cutting a hair on the end of your fingertips?
I know an old man that traded me some knives about two years ago off tin top road that he could pull out a hair from his head couple inches long and he would hold it out with one end being free and cut it in three pieces.

ditto on benchmade I carried one and was really abusive to it the entire tour in the Marines, had to send it back 1 time to re-sharpen. plus I was able to buy the Military line of knives.

I have a lot but my favorite is a Keen Kutter my grandpa carried way way back there, cause he passed away when i was 8 now i'm 44, best i can tell it was made some where in the 40's, i only carry it to church and special places, it will hold an edge like you wouldn't believe. i'll try to get a pic of it.

Case XX, love the trapper, but my favorite is my russlock. Old Timer used to make a pretty good knife, but I don't know about their newer stuff. I also have a ken onion designed kershaw that's been decent, although it doesn't hold an edge like my case knive do.

I found a CRKT on the beach after the tide had gone out. I figured it was a piece of garbage because the blade was forged in Taiwan. I pitched it in my truck. A few weeks later I got it out and was surprised that the salt water hadnt rusted it up and the blade was sharp. Not a bad knife for the price.

I think I can... I think...
As a kid my dad always carried a Schrade Walden (Stainless model) He bought me one when I was about 12. At 15 I was fishing with a friend on my Grandad's pier, I let the friend use it to cut something and he dropped it in the water. I was sick and never told my Dad about losing it. That knife held the best edge of any knife I ever owned. Was almost always razor sharp and a couple of licks on a stone would put it back to a shaving edge!!! Sure wish I could get another one!!

I'd say half of the buck knives today come from china though so...
