Do you Wanna know Why??????
I personally installed the dishwasher by the sink a few years ago. Tonight, while trying to gain favor from my wife, I was unloading it. Pulling out both the top and the bottom drawers together made the dishwasher attack me. It lunged forward, the dishes smashing together and sounded like a train full of fine China crashing down Pikes Peak. Luckily, it was slowed down by the copper pipe that feeds water to it.
I didn’t notice the water line break until it was flowing into the downstairs area. Guess I’m lucky my kitchen is upstairs or I wouldn’t have seen the many gallons of water pouring through the sheet rock into the downstairs area. For whatever reason, there is no shut off valve for the dishwasher line so I currently have the water turned off to the whole house.
My wife, who I was trying to gain favor with, was attempting to take a shower at the time. I now have plenty of time to spend typing out my Wanna know why for the rest of you.
So, If you Wanna know why: that’s why they have those two little tabs on the top of the dishwasher that you are supposed to put screws in to keep it from tipping.
Anybody else?

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Thanks for posting this funny story. Oops, maybe not so funny when you are the poor husband who fell out out of favor with his wife while trying to curry favor. Unfortunately you have now joined the ranks of husbands everywhere who sooner or later fall into the same doghouse category.
Look on the bright side; in a few years you can tell this story again and maybe even your wife will smile when you tell it.
Yup, those two little screw holes are meant to be filled for a very good reason. Shutoffs at every appliance requiring the use of water or gas is also an excellent idea.
Look on the bright side; You WILL live to screw up again.

Well thought out. Doors, windows, enough room inside to stretch out and be comfortable on a bed of straw..... It can also be heated with a drop light......

I went with the 2 door/2 dog setup...... very nice.

And people snicker when I just have others install new stuff. I don't dicker on price, I dicker on delivery and install. That way when they screw it up they have to fix it. I've slowly been learning that through life. My dad was a big time DIY guy. He could do anything. Heck he loved it so much he usually installed stuff at least twice. He said to make sure it was done right. The only thing I will not let people touch is my truck.

That would look good on the side of your 5th "I live to screw up again!" If you dont use it, I will.
Im starting to think thats not such a bad idea.
Luckily the downstairs is a concrete slab with tile and there is a floor drain over by the heater. Clean up went pretty well after I pinched off the leaking pipe and restored water to the house (wife got to get the shampoo out of her hair). After the mop up I left fans on overnight and its actually almost dry since most of the water went straight down the holes in the floor for the elect and plumbing (low humidity is helping). I might not have to replace the sheetrock since the water drained through the holes in a downstairs light fixture. Guess I have to wait to see what it looks like when it dries. Oh well, thats what retirement is all about. Screw things up so you can fix them.

Wasn't your fault........OBVIOUSLY The Wife OVERLOADED the Dishwasher causing you great Grief and Emotional scars that may never completely heal.
I would be sure to check out those cool doghouse plans before springing this theory on her though if I were you
This is the type of blame switch I try on my wife from time to time, in fact the last time was 2 days before I took her to her favorite Casino to bring in the New Year. I am also aware she is planning another trip there in February

I've been thinking about it. I'm not so sure Bark volunteered to unload said dishwasher. The way I figure it was he was either guilted into doing so or ordered into doing it. Thereby, he slammed the door open wrecklessly and when it bottomed out the mechanical leverage of the heavy door pulled the top away from the bottom counter where the screws seemed to be lacking from holding it in. In doing this, the water pipe that probably could have been flex with a valve but wasn't broke causing a small natural disaster.
Not that I have ever seen this theory actually get tested though.....

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
But what's the fun in that?? If he did he would not have the good misfortune and great story for all us to read! If he did read the directions his story would have been "I installed a dishwasher and I have not had any problems yet" Now where is the funny in that??
Glade to hear you di dnot have to sleep in the dog house.
