***BREAKROOM 4/17 to 4/23***
The breakroom's easier to find so let's get in here more often this week, shall we?
Morninging y'all.
Today is Sunday, April 17th.
On this day in 1629 - Horses were first imported into the colonies by the American Massachusetts Bay Colony.
1704 - John Campbell published what would eventually become the first successful American newspaper. It was known as the Boston "News-Letter."
1860 - New Yorkers learned of a new law that required fire escapes to be provided for tenement houses.
1861 - Virginia became the eighth state to secede from the Union.
1864 - U.S. Civil War General Grant banned the trading of prisoners.
1865 - Mary Surratt was arrested as a conspirator in the Lincoln assassination.
1917 - A bill in Congress to establish Daylight Saving Time was defeated. It was passed a couple of months later.
1941 - Igor Sikorsky accomplished the first successful helicopter lift-off from water near Stratford, CT.
1941 - The office of Price Administration was established in the U.S. to handle rationing.
1961 - About 1,400 U.S.-supported Cuban exiles invaded Cuba at the Bay of Pigs in an attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro. It was an unsuccessful attack.
1964 - The Ford Motor Company unveiled its new Mustang model.
1967 - The U.S. Supreme Court barred Muhammad Ali's request to be blocked from induction into the U.S. Army.
1969 - In Los Angeles, Sirhan Sirhan was convicted of assassinating U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
1975 - Khmer Rouge forces capture the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. It was the end of the five-year war.
1985 - The U.S. Postal Service unveiled its new 22-cent, "LOVE" stamp.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Is there intelligent life on other planets, or are they all as dumb as we are?
Cffee & ph are ready. Or as ready as they get at least. I *MIGHT* go out and get fresh donuts if anyone wants them.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
WOW, you are so correct. I just followed the bad smell to it's source and found the break room. No evidence that the janitor hs been around, no coffee, no donuts, but just this awfull SMELL! Not even going to go further to see what is causing it.
On a more serious note, I am praying that none of the DTR members or their families are injured as a result of all these storms and that their properties are OK. My folks who are in danger of flooding like Scottie be OK and soon report in that all is well and that the danger has passed.
BTW, good morning.

Good ole Pine Sol.
We called my mother Mom Sol because of how much of that stuff she used.
Scott I do believe we have found the cause of the odors. Just look at the circle of worn tiles in the breakroom and listen to the shuffle of the feet. There you will find Can'tStan the Odor Man. He must think that recycling is ok with his Depends.
I filtered out all the [censored] and added some [censored] as well as some Pine Sol to the Pho0o0 pot.
One more day of work. I see the doc tomorrow about my tendons and whatever else has come apart in my arms. This ' should' be the last round of repairs after all the stuff my wee widdo carcass as been through.
Take the rest of the day off folks. Enjoy.

Too many folks can't read the directions on the bottle. You are supposed to use PineSol in small quantities diluted with lots of water. The breakroom (and the coffee) smells like like lots of PineSol was used with only a tiny amount of water.
I don't walk in circles. Oh wait, maybe that pain in my foot is because somebody nailed one foot to the floor.
Don't depend on Depends. What if I told you I was a nudist? There, go play with that thought.
Scotty, quote wee widdo carcass Ummm, really? Are you perhaps using one of those mirrors that distort things?
If you are posting, then you have not floated away yet.
Watching a kid of about 8 year old outside my window fishing and enjoying catching a few decent sized fish. He is obviously having fun.

it doesn't look like its deformed, it just cracked the huge single piece of glass. I figured it was from the initial impact and the shockwave running thru the wall.
I know some of you guys have been thru insurance home repairs before, whats the run down?
My first goal was to get the tree off the roof after the claim was started.
I have pictures.
Ill keep the tree around until after the adjuster has his say.
There is just so much I dont know. Im not trying to make money off the deal, I just want my house fixed properly, and not be out a bunch of money in the process.

Enjoying a fantastic day leveling the fill dirt for my 30x30 shop concrete floor. Got 2/3 of it level and now have a huge pile of fill in the middle left over to spread in the yard to improve the soil so I can get some grass to grow by my pine trees. Lot of high iron content dirt up there ... like an old iron ore tailings spot. The little rocks stick in the grooves of your tires and when they shake loose on the road ... they rust. Odd stuff.
With all the snow that dropped last night and more coming tonight, we all could be floating if their predictions of an Historic flood happens. Things are just getting grim.
You can feel the tension with folks around here now. Theres no place for the water to go with the ground either still frozen or saturated. Its rising more after the snow and when the heat hits here in a few days...

You would noodle brain. A lentil is for cooking but it's not a noodle.
I for one plan on pinching both him and Pistol if I ever see them.

wow, sure am feeling for you guys all over the US/Canada....reading TRad's what to do thing for tornadoes brought it home. Stan, hard to think about the older ones we love in times of need....stay in close contact. (meaning your folks, not that you are older or in need)
beautiful sunny day but 37 degrees and winds 20 with gusts to 50, not a roof day. crew wanted to come out, we were not safe for anyone but us. less stress on me too. better this way for all. this is only maintenance, not a repair, so no time constraint.
CanuckScotty, did not know your arm was in the fix up mix. thought it was the LEGG, hope all waving limbs are better soon. just for thought- the Ontario based ships look to Russia weather for Jet stream info.....dostrov ya.
we haven't heard from Top, is he all ok, should we ask to see his LEGGS?
