valve adjustment time???

Exclamation valve adjustment time???

well guys i pulled my valve cover last night to install a set of injector and found that there was way to much play in the valve rockers. i have 59k miles on the truck and i know it needs a valve adjustment now. can we say little better milage after n adjustment.

i haven't adjusted them yet but it was like 1/8 to 1/4 in play in the rocker. i could lift the rocker about 1/8 a 1/4 of space between the rocker and valve bridge

a 1/4" play in rockers??? your truck must of sounded like a 5 gallon drum full of screws and scape metal rolling down the road.

1/4" is .250 thous. doubt it.... Check for .10 on int. .20 exh.

wow .10 intake and .20 exhaust I set mine at .010 and .020

That is what i was thinking .01 and .02 sounds better. i havnt pulled my valve cover yet, but working on marine diesels having a .2 or 1/4" gap is WAY to much.

yeah it sounds pretty bad thats why i haven't been driving it the last couple days. but i have off tomorrow so i'm going to do the valve adjustment on it. and get it back in shape and running right.

Skynard, if they do have 1/4 to 1/8, you might want to look deeper. that is way past some normal wear. Good luck.
