TST box Install
I am thinking about getting the TST box for my 03 truck.
Has anyone had any problems with the TST or the installation of it?
Looking at the installation directions, it seems straight forward. Not quick but straight forward.
Thanks,
Don

I believe several have had codes, or weird running conditions. I know the boxes have had several reflashes or changes to them since the introduction, so they may have worked out some of the bugs (using us as guinea pigs ). As far as I know there are other boxes that are considered to be more 'reliable', however I've not seen any that will put out the power the TST will.

I installed mine in less than an hour, but I already had my exhaust manifold tapped for my EGT. Like it was said above, the only tough connections are the Cam/Crankshaft positions sensors. I tied my ground to the dash of the truck instead of where it said in the instructions because of others that were getting codes. I have not had a single code or weird running condition yet. You will LOVE it!!!

For those of you with 6spds, how is the clutch handling it. I know with the 48RE that you can run it 4-5 and anything after start slipping. I know our manual tranny is VERY heavy duty. Can you run it higher on the stock clutch?

As for the stock clutch, I just bought a dual disk clutch
You can run it on 4-5 and the stock clutch will hold. It does not do well with the EZ stacked though!!

I have about 30,000 miles on my TST and so far it has been wonderful. I did get a cam position code when I lugged it down below idle once but I cleared it with my OBD reader. No effect on performance. I run around on 4/1 or 2 and crank it up to 5/3 if I want to impress someone. Stock clutch holding up well at 45,000 miles. If you like grinning, get it! Generally running 20mpg's plus, hand figured. The main thing that sold me on the TST was no raised rail pressure. So far the tires slip before the clutch does.
