Truck Died!

Headed south on the 15. Had Edge Comp on 5x5 (like normal). Check Engine light came on. Truck started to run rough, like it was missing on 3 cyl. I dove to the shoulder and shut it down. Waited about 20min., fired it back up, light was still on, but it was idling fine. Drove 20 miles and parked for the night. Next morning, about 12hours later I went out, fired the truck up, no light and ran fine 160 miles home.

Any idea of what happened?

Did you get any codes? It could possibly be your VP44 is dying.

Lo and Behold!

Thou must listen to your customers!

When I took my truck in last week for the exhaust, I asked then to check out the FP. Guess what, it was over voltage. Transfer pump was Kaput.

How long till the injection pump last now? I drove nearly 200 miles on it.

BTW - Truck idles NICE!

Odds are you didn't do any real damage to your VP provided you weren't hot-rodding with a dead LP. 200 miles isn't that far in the big picture.

When my LP died -- I drove around Vegas, then to Sandy Valley, and back home with a load in the bed - then back to town the next day in the middle of summer mind you... all in all about 350 miles before I took it in...

VP-44 lasted me around 3-4 months before biting the dust...
