troubleshooting fuel pressure issues
I am currently running dual cp3's but truck still acts like it is starving for fuel even with no smarty or ts box. it is studderish or jerky or feelsd like a slight miss on a gas engine Problem is I have dipricol gauges for fuel and rail I was told by dipricol to unhook rail pressure gauge as it ws acting crazy and when I called them they told me it wont work with dual cp3's and that they would have a new harness in about a month and would sent it to me they said the gauge cant take in all the info from 2 pumps so I cant even watch the pressure. And my fuel pressure gauge is acting weird when I start truck it reads about 15 at idle and 10 wot then after a while it starts reading 20psi at idle then sometimes after that it reads 5 psi at idle what gives i have tried different grounds and power . not sure if I have a cp3 issue either a fca or whatever a airdog issue or what how would I test each cp3 also I keep getting codes p0148 and p0190 I am getting really frustrated and ready to sell truck as with all I have done I think it runs slower that stock (well not really) but it feels slow for all I have done and my 01 2500 had 580hp and felt faster and this one should have more hp than that
I have dual CP3's and my Dipircol works fine. It's connect to the RP sensor so it has nothing to do with the pumps. It senses pressure at the rail. The only thing it doesn't do that it's suppose too is spike when the truck is turned off. I don't know what more of a harness they would need ????
You could have a air bubble in the FP gauge line causing that problem. Do you have a big line kit ? If not, that's one way you could be starving ?? the stock 3/8" lines don't have a lot of room in them.
Possibly a bad TPS ??
It could also be a problem with the pumps control box. ( the one that comes with the duals.
I thought I had pump issues too so I put my truck on a Starscan. You can look at everything to do with fueling and see if there's a problem somewhere. The TPS sends the signals to everything to do with fueling and if it's bad...
these were just some thoughts....Good luck !

I have half inch lines to cp3's I thought about rail sensor being bad as when we hooked up the duals truck ran about 12 miles and blew the stock pump apart as it locked up and I am afriad something is not right now replaced cp3 the injectors were sent back and cleaned or repaired and the lines were all cleaned as well. and I am going to replace sensor with new one just to see the starscan is a dealer item
