Timing Pin Gone
So I've been working on my truck alot lately and just noticed that the large amount of oil all over my block is due to the fact that my timing pin is missing!
Any way to cover the hole? what kind of bolts are used to hold the mount that the pin goes through? Should a pin be able to fall out the back like that?

If memory serves me correctly, the pin is held by an O ring. I pulled mine out accidently the last time I did the valves. I pushed it back in the hole and it is still where I left it. You may be able to find a neoprene plug to temporarily fill the hole until a replacement is found. Maybe one of those baby bottle nipple oil drain plugs.
The pin is held in by a metal retainer that looks like an external tooth lock washer. The o-ring is only a seal. I, too, would find an elastic plug to seal until the proper plug and retainer can be obtained.
