surging on start up when cold
I have a 2000 2500 auto that has started surging on start up when cold.
I have no mods to my engine and no codes being thrown. Any ideas?

Voltage spike due to the grid heaters, right?

It that time of the year again... The grid heaters pop on. (Unless you plugging in the block heater in!)
If you have a weak LP already and the grid heat comes on it might be robbing the VP44 of good fuel pressure... Check your filter too...

Sorry I should have been more specific. I have owned the truck for 3 years and am firmiliar with the grid heaters and also change fuel filters every second oil change (new fuel filter every 20,000km). This is more of a romp in the idle when the truck is at idle when cold. Truck has 250,000km on it and has a 1 year old VP-44 and lift pump. This just started about a month ago with no other problems.

Back to topic though, my truck will "surge" per se in very low temps (for me that's less than 20*) but only for about 10 seconds. It's almost like, it's sputtering and choking on the fuel. I assume that is normal and never gave me a worry. With normal FP I would say your okay.

Temps for me are not low yet I guess what bothers me is it never did it before. I will try another fuel filter and check my fuel pressure. You never know. I have not changed the injectors yet when should they be changed?
I do use an injector cleaner/lubricant in every tank.
