smarty and added timing=bad?

i was reading somewhere that the smarty on the catcher settings sw13579 that the timing is bad for the motors... is this true. i usually run on sw5 and timing on 2 so i believe that is the most timing i can get without it popping. what do you guys think?

The problem comes in when you're stacking items with both do the same, like timing. To much timing can fry pistons. Just the smarty alone on timing will be fine as long as you don't have the tone ring mod or roteck timing sensor install.

Revo timing setting 2 is fine for the '03-04 models. It's timing 4 that gives us problems.

I run sw 5 to sw7 constantly, been about 100k now on beta 4.4 almost religiously. I also keep my pressure on 40-50% unless I'm pulling or its wet outside, and have done so for the better part of 50k miles. IMO if you are sensible with the truck, and don't try to beat it to death with new mods, it will be reliable. Timing is good on these trucks, just not when the truck is being worked extremely hard.

1350* max empty on my hardest run, 1350* pulling 10k wot through the gears. I just cant seem to make it get past 1350*. Love it. Constant boost I see about 40psi but it peaks 42psi.

You'll be fine on #9, especially if you spray H2O... no 3rd injection event gives the 555 motors more cushion for abuse.
